Built for Irish dance feiseanna

Run the whole competition year, not just the day.

CueBeat is the platform behind a feis: the governing body’s sanction, the syllabus, entries and numbering, offline judging on the day, published results, and the committee’s books afterwards. One system, the whole year, free for the committee that runs it.

The problem

A feis is not one day. It is a year with one very loud Saturday in the middle.

Most tools for a competition day stop at scheduling and scores. A committee’s real year also includes booking adjudicators and a live musician, recruiting and clearing volunteers, building a budget that produces the entry fee, chasing perpetual trophies, and sending the governing body its own return — all before the next date gets sanctioned and the cycle starts again.

Why committees choose this

Built for a result that has to be right, not just fast

01

Championship tabulation, not “total or average”

Per-judge ranking, summed across judges and rounds, with an explicit tie-break chain. An unresolvable tie is reported, never silently broken by row order. Recalls and overrides are first-class, each with a reason a committee can defend later.

02

Judging that never waits for the network

A tablet in a hall with no signal keeps marking. Every action appends to a local log and syncs when it can, idempotently — nothing lost, nothing applied twice, even if the app is killed mid-competition.

03

A published result is a frozen snapshot

What was pinned to the notice board stays what was pinned to the notice board. An amendment is a new version with the old one kept, and consent is applied when a parent opens the page, never baked into the record itself.

04

The other eleven months, covered too

Adjudicator and musician booking, volunteer rosters and safeguarding, a budget that derives the entry fee, sponsorship fulfilment, and the governing body’s own submission — not bolted on, built as one system.

05

Numbers that survive a late entry

Competitor numbers respect school adjacency and stay stable when late entries arrive — nobody’s printed card changes because somebody else registered on Thursday night.

06

One platform, any discipline

Registration, numbering, marshalling, the stage and the green room are identical underneath. Only the scoring model changes, and it is data — a discipline pack, not a rewrite.

Pricing

Free to run. About $5 a dancer — and the committee keeps every cent of entry fees.

No subscription, no tiers, nothing held back behind a paywall on the day itself. The fee is charged per dancer per event, however they got there.
